Tied the Leader's got the scoop on some badass puzzles for Halo 3 built with the Forge engine. i've yet to try them, but they sound pretty cool. be sure to download not only the gametype, but the Forge map also......

wow. after inviting a few guests over last night, i can honestly say Rock Band gets my vote for best local multiplayer game of the year. we got through the first 3rd of the world tour mode, after getting warned that we coulden't progress any further unless we stepped up to medium difficulty. (those fucking drums are HARD!!!!) the one knock on the game is how much repetition there is. for every venue or city you unlock, you get only one or 2 new songs, and your sets get filled in with songs you've already played. i can't remember exactly how many times i played Maps or Creep, but it was easily over 12 each. my brother played bass, my wife sang, and our friend Ellen rocked the guitar on expert. she made a few observations on the arrangement of the notes, saying that on some songs it was harder than Guitar Hero 3, but on others it was way too easy. She's pretty hardcore though, so medium or hard are just fine with me. after playing for about 7 hours, we were beat an...

just got Rock Band, and i'm loving it!!! my nephew of 7 years and my non-gamer brother just got through the first leg of our world tour. i can't wait till SnifflyFlunky gets here, we need a REAL drummer cause i'm horrible at it. the drums are by FAR the hardest instument to play, because even at easy difficulty, you use all the colors and the foot pedal. in contrast, playing either guitar or bass on easy only require the green, red and yellow buttons. i didn't have anyone available to sing, but that will change tomorrow...... mass effect, not so much.......

I've been a real lazy ass for the last 2 months, and Halo 3,& Guitar Hero 3, and Call of Duty 4 are to blame. if i have any free time, ( or time at all) i'm usually playing one of these. so the posting has fallen to the wayside, and i apologize to all 134 regular readers. it's a sincere apology, but I'm not promising anything like a regular schedule. that being said, Super Mario Galaxy is awesome!! it follows the Super Mario 64 level design where you unlock new levels after collecting the stars in that level, and the pseudo-2 player element is perfect for that annoying little brother-sister-cousin-son-daughter-who wants to play. good stuff. is is me or has this been the best year ever for gaming? i just got through with Call of Duty 4's single player campaign, and it has to have the most satisfying ending i've experienced in a long, LONG time. the flow of the game is so much better than COD 3 or even Halo 3. the final level beat out any FPS I've played this year..(with the exception of Bioshock which i have yet to complete....i know.....) with the awesome multiplayer and the most solid single-player campaign, it's a serious entry for Game of the Year..... i think i like it more than halo 3 right now.....
