i was trolling the net today when i ran across this npr story about a "first person shooter" game to test subconscious racial bias in police officers. created by Joshua Correl , it tries to measure weather cops are influenced by racial bias in the split-second decision to shoot a suspect. describing this as first person shooter is a bit misleading, since it's more of a slideshow with pictures of men with pistols (or phones/wallets). but the results are surprising, since some of the "suspects" are black, some are white. the researchers determine that white people shoot armed black suspects faster than white suspects. i decided to take the test myself, just to see weather i'm a racist bastard or a tolerant hippie. here are the results.... i guess i'm more likely to shoot an armed person, period.....if you're curious, you can try the game here..... and i'm off to Call of Duty 4!! oh shit, i guess it was also in monday's Redeye....

Rockband vs. Guitar Hero: World Tour the songs (and frequency of DLC) will determine the winner this fall....

hey, it's been a slow week..... inbetween redownloading my entire music collection and family stuff, i've only seen one thing that's caught my mind.

so the latest scoop is that the makers of Guitar Hero have decided that they too want the band experience that Rock Band delivers, and have added drums and vocals to the mix. not sure where that leaves the Guitar Hero name, but here's the first pics of the drum set. they've added one more pad more than the Rock Band set ( say goodbye to Rock Band compatibility), and the cymbals are above the drum pads. and it's probably going to cost a shitload of money this fall.....sigh.......

i've done a fucking awesome job of ignoring this blog in the last week, and playing a shitload of GTA 4, Mario Kart Wii and assorted shitty demos (i'm looking at you, Haze....). tonight i finally found something i've been looking for. jace and the wheeled warriors. i don't really have much to go on as far as memories go, but i do remember it had plant-based villans. and it had a kick ass theme song. thanks to youtube, here it is. and a equally awesome companion cartoon, M.A.S.K.

so i've been without internet for the last few days, due to a double whammy of my pc going supernova and my cable modem melting down. i bought a iMac last night, and will hopefully get back to regular blogging soon..... and Grand Theft Auto 4 is the best fucking game ever.
