Now before anyone gets too excited, most of the games on sale at Toys 'R Us aren't very good, but in the steaming pile of crap, there are actually a few good games for sale. Merry Christmas to all, and all that jazz.... I got a package from Nintendo a few days ago, a Nintendo-themed Monopoly game. Last night i started a game with family and started getting the hang of it. I've never played Monopoly before yesterday, so it might take a few games to get used to the crass capitalistic machinations. anyway, i got a boatload of cool presents, giftcards, and the like from my wife, family and friends, and i hope everyone reading this spent Christmas surrounded by their loved ones.

Since about July, reports were beginning to surface about Sony's new Playstation Network and how it was going to body-slam Xbox Live, it would have more features, and higher player-limits for its online games. Well, if today's events are any indication, PS3 owners are in for a rocky ride . The network was knocked offline today, due to the early availablity of the Gran Turismo demo. the official Sony support says that they're working on the problem, and should have it fixed by noon today. that really sucks, just listen to a PS3 user rant.... I live in the central time zone, just got off the phone with Sony rep. and they said the problem was that too many people are online right now and the PlayStation network could not handle it!! Their advice was for me to keep trying throughout the day........and as for a fix they said they hoped to have a update available in the future to address this problem!!! This is Crap!!!!! I payed over $700 to play this stupid thing on...

If you woke up today with some creepy-ass blue light bathing your living room a soothing blue, it's a message from Nintendo that the Wii web browser is now available for download. i haven't gotten a chance to try it out yet ( stupid work) but as soon as i get home I'll see how easy it is to post from my living room. Bethesda just announced that they will be offering a Oblivion add-on pack for the Xbox 360 version for free. Mehrunes' Razor, a 250 point Xbox Live Marketplace add-on, is being offered for absolutely free starting tomorrow through December 31. Crackdown, the baby of GTA creator David Jones, is set to hit the streets on Feb 20th. a demo is set to hit also, about a month earlier, on Jan 18th. I've been watching this title closely, since the notion of online co-op in a free roaming world floats my boat. So after a few days of only playing FF III and Clubhouse Games, i was getting antsy and wanted to look up a few arcades i knew existed in my grandfather's town. I remember playing severely modded versions of Street fighter II and Hyper Fighting, super speed Smash TV and other mashup games ( king of fighters mixed with some other shitty fighting games and glitchy music) after looking around for a few minutes, i found a site called Mundo Play. all they had were about 10 arcade cabinets, with joysticks and the familiar 6 button configuration that SF II used. but these cabinets were different. each was running some kind of MAME emulator, and they were STUFFED with practically EVERY pre 1998 arcade game I've personally ever seen. Every cabinet was the same, they all had the same software and joystick config, so i plopped 2 pesos ( about 22 cents ) into a machine, and started to scroll through the menus. Most of the games were obscure Japanese or really shitty quality copies of...

So i just got home after a few weeks away, and for everyone who posted their wii friend code things, I'll make a new post tomorrow with all the # so it will be a up-to-date list. I had a hell of a time, as soon as i get a chance, I'll post some pics of an emulator-fueled arcade in a 600 year old town in Mexico. FOR REAL. i freaked out after signing into my email and seeing almost 1000 emails in my inbox, with another 4000 in my spam. so if anyone emailed me, it'll be awhile before you get a response. and yes, there was Internet access and i could have checked, but this was vacation time, and my wife made me remember that vacation time is Internet and cellphone free. ( but not DS free!!)
