karma. or something just as fucking evil.

so i figured I'd take a few days off to get some perspective and calm down before i got around to making this post. after a week of pretty good stuff happening ( finally making Commander in Call of Duty 4, getting those sweet new maps for Halo 3, getting into Devil May Cry 4 after thinking it was going to suck) i just could NOT wait till June to pick up the Metal Gear Solid 4 PS3 bundle. so after talking it over with my wife (it's strictly for Blu-Ray!!!!) i gathered some old games together and armed with a credit card and about $170 in Gamestop credits, i finally bought a PS3. i also picked up Unreal Tournament because of the badass mods that have sprung up for it lately. what i didn't pick up was a HDMI cable, so i didn't hook it up till the next day. after going through all the PSN network sign up stuff i played a bit of Unreal and quickly decided that it's just as twitchy as i remember it. too twitchy for me. anyway, since i've been hellbent in the last week on getting Commander rank in COD 4 :MW and haven't played too much of the new Halo 3 maps, i decided to boot it up and get busy.

after one match, my xbox 360 froze. when i restarted it, it lasted 5 second and froze again. my heart fucking sank, and even before it froze 3 more times, i knew what was coming.

RROD.

it's like my fucking xbox knew, that little bastard KNEW i just bought a PS3, and was like "oh, you want to buy a PS3, huh? well, how do you like THIS!!!!!!" this is the SECOND TIME it's gone down, and although i know ppl on their 4th or 5th 360, it's still a shitty feeling when it happened. even though it was 11 pm, i still called MS and started the return process. the pencil pusher on the other line pretty much told me that I'd miss the Grand Theft Auto 4 launch because their hardware is so goddam undependable. i mean, what the FUCK!!! i can't believe a massive company like Microsoft can be such a bunch of fuckups and continue to have this shit happen. after the first time, i was pretty sure that they had a handle on the problem, but i guess it's every xbox 360 owner's unavoidable fate to nervously wait till the day that their xbox takes a shit.

and the fact that the PS3's XMB and crappy online setup is nowhere near Xbox Live's quality makes it that much worse. my PSN user id is el_moco_117 since some asshole took my El Moco handle. what next......

at least my Wii still works.......
